Ms. Brittany Bauccio, Principal

Ms. Brittany Bauccio joins Dixon-Smith Middle School as Principal, bringing extensive experience in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and school administration in Stafford County Public Schools. She most recently served as an Assistant Principal at Stafford High School.
Ms. Bauccio has held a variety of educational leadership and instructional roles, including Teacher on Special Assignment and summer school principal. Her career began in the classroom, where she taught English Language Arts in grades 6–11 as well as journalism and creative writing. Prior to entering education, she worked in public relations and communications supporting science, healthcare, and consumer-focused organizations, bringing a strong foundation in communication and relationship-building to her work in schools.
Ms. Bauccio earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Ohio University. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Education from Marymount University and an Educational Leadership certificate from James Madison University.
Ms. Bauccio is committed to fostering a student-centered learning environment grounded in high expectations, strong relationships, and a positive school culture. She is passionate about ensuring that every student is supported academically, socially, and emotionally and is prepared for success in high school and beyond.
Ms. Bauccio is excited to join the Dixon-Smith Middle School community and looks forward to partnering with staff, students, and families to support every Bulldog in thriving and achieving their full potential.
Ms. Christy Cheek, Assistant Principal

Christy Cheek serves as an assistant principal at Dixon-Smith Middle School, where she is dedicated to supporting students, staff, and families through a positive and collaborative school culture. She is committed to creating an environment where every Bulldog feels valued, challenged, and prepared to succeed.
Mr. Jeffrey Jones, Assistant Principal

Jeffrey Jones is an assistant principal at Dixon-Smith Middle School, focused on building strong relationships and promoting student success. With a passion for academic achievement and a safe, inclusive school climate, he works to ensure every Bulldog has the tools and support needed to grow and thrive.
Ms. Joanna Dugan, Dean

Joanna Dugan joins Dixon-Smith Middle School as Dean. Mrs. Dugan was most recently an English teacher at Mountain View High School where she was selected as the school's “Teacher of the Year.” Mrs. Dugan values communication and has worked to build strong connections with her students and their families, coworkers, and the community. She has been part of district-level curriculum planning for both English and the Freshman Success course, served on the secondary grading committee, introduced the Wildcats Show Up attendance initiative to promote positive engagement and improve attendance among chronically absent students, facilitated a well-organized and driven PLC, and coached Mountain View’s State Champion Cheer Team and award-winning gymnastics team. Prior to working in education, Mrs. Dugan spent 15 years working in transportation management.
